THE PROMISE

 

My dad said he was going to take me bowling today and he didn’t. It’s not easy for him. Mum’s left home and left dad to look after me. She wanted to be free. Free of him. Free of me.

 

Dad has a new girl friend who doesn’t like me. Mum said I can live with her, so that’s where I am now. I don’t know where I am. I’m everywhere and nowhere.

 

Dad often promises to take me out, but doesn’t. I don’t like it at mum’s or with my with dad’s girl friend. I want my dad back.
