Barry was a naughty child. Naughty. Naughty. A bundle of energy with a lively mind always thinking what he could do that he shouldn’t according to Lucy, his mother, who was his disciplinary custodian as his father worked long laborious hours.

 

 

She would regularly put him in the darkened Glory Hole that was hidden beneath the stairs. Nothing seemed to dampen his enthusiasm for the forbidden regularly embarrassing her in front of the members of the Mothers Union.

When Lucy licked her handkerchief to clean his messy face Barry was transformed into an angel of delight. But not for long.
