John was a walking DIY disaster. He feared his wife’s list as he had no idea how to deal with the problems.

 

As times were hard he knew he had to make the effort to save money but sometimes it cost more to repair the damage.

 

He yelled at his children when they picked up a paint brush or a hammer.

 

It was only with advancing years and improved technology that his demeanour improved. Instead of losing his temper he combined the calmness of mañana with the YouTube instructions to provide the solutions that had previously eluded him. Job done.
