Mind Over Matter

He was a poor loser. He hated it. He wanted to win but couldn’t.

 

He could at first. He out hit and out smarted his opponents and it felt good but as he got closer to the prize it was snatched away from him by players not as good as him. His anger engulfed him. He shouted at the umpire. He smashed his racquet.

The next time he was on court he congratulated his opponent on a wonderful, unplayable shot and a strange inner belief came over him. From a losing position he fought back to take the tennis title.
