Every Friday evening in Malestroit the townsfolk transform the market square into an entertainment centre. Chairs were delivered and put out to face the articulated truck transformed into a stage.

 

We were late arriving to see the dance troupe performing local folk dances much to the joy of the drinking audience. We settled in admiration as we downed our bierre. Folk singers and groups followed . The square was packed and the local bartenders were kept very busy

When the dance troupe returned we were shocked to hear that came from our own town and were actually performing English folk dances.
